19 year old Tallulah and Zach have been dating for what seems like forever, and they share a gorgeous one year old named Noah. When they decide to go out on a date night at a local pub, Tallulah’s mother, Kim, is happy to watch Noah for the night. When daybreak comes and the parents haven’t come home, And all calls go straight to voicemail, Kim gets understandably concerned. What comes next is a suspenseful tale told from three different viewpoints: Tallulah’s account of past events leading up to the night they go missing, Kim’s point of view from the time her daughter is not heard from again, and that of Sophie (a mystery novelist that involves herself in the investigation a little more than a year after the teens have gone missing). Lisa Jewell weaves an amazingly detailed and realistic look at the different potential motives of each character, and keeps you guessing as to what the real story behind Tallulah and Zach’s disappearance and relationship could have been. There are plenty of twists and turns that will make putting the book down nearly impossible, I had to read it in one sitting, My favorite book by Lisa Jewell to date, this is one that cannot be missed! Thank you to Atria Books and Netgalley for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. |
