Deceive Me by Vi Carter

Available March 7th!

Synopsis:

Jared

They say love and hate dance together along the same line.
My feelings for Layla don’t dance on the line; they destroy it.
It’s been seven years since she disappeared without a trace.
And now she’s back, but things have changed—I’ve changed.
I’m no longer the Jared she remembers, the boy who wanted to protect her.
I’m very much my father’s son, and I take what I want, and what I want is Layla.
But this time, I’m keeping her forever.

Layla

Seven years—that’s how long it’s been since I’ve seen him.
After painstakingly putting myself back together, I’m finally ready to start a life without his memory chasing my every step.
Imagine my surprise when my new beginning leads me straight back to him.
Only he’s not the boy I remember.
He’s angry.
Damaged.
Hiding secrets that want to destroy him.
He hates me. He wants me.

I’m not sure I’ll survive the man he has become. His demons threaten to destroy us both.

My review:

Loved this book and I cannot wait for the second in the duet to come out!

When Layla is young, she is in a terrific household, and Jared is her greatest protector. When Layla is saved from the situation and removed from her abusive home, Jared is lost to her. When they reunite in college, Jaren has changed into someone she barely recognizes. Someone who has turned from her protector into her nightmare.

Jared and Layla have the sort of chemistry I love to read. Jared’s almost dual personalities run so hot and cold for Layla tha it makes just the kind of steamy enemies-to-lovers book that I couldn’t put down!

There are still secrets to be unearthed, and the book ends on one heck of a cliff hanger that will have you desperate for the next book if you’re anything like me. I can’t wait to see where the next book will take us!

Thanks to GiveMeBooksPR for providing me with an ARC of this book in excahnge for my honest review.
