Penny Reid has done it again! She has created yet another couple that I can’t stop thinking about. Winnie and Byron have friends in common. That’s about it for their relationship honestly. Everytime Winnie sees Byron, he is either correcting her grammar, or putting down her public school job, or otherwise making Winnie uncomfortable. So when he volunteers to pretend to be her best friend to do some TikTok challenges, she is completely surprised that he would offer his help.
Byron is handsome, but he is also brutally honest, blunt, often times grumpy, rarely smiling, more rarely laughing. And all of this is what makes it that much more amazing when Winnie can get him to smile or to laugh, the swoon factor is imcredibly high!
Their chemistry together is amazing, and their struggles are completely relatable (especially if you know anyone with sensory processing issues).
I honestly don’t know what to say about Penny’s writing except that if you aren’t reading her books yet, I’m not sure what you are waiting for? She writes the most fun characters, and manages to give them the spicy relationship goals that we all swoon for. Loved the heck out of it!
